We had the absolute joy of creating Steffanie’s Bridal Shower flowers at her family home in Melbourne. It was such a warm, heartfelt celebration, and one that I am delighted to share with you.
For anyone new to the tradition, a Bridal Shower (sometimes called a Kitchen Tea) is a cherished pre-wedding event that honours the bride-to-be. Surrounded by her closest family and friends, she is showered with love, gifts, laughter and plenty of memorable moments. Typically held about a month before the wedding, it is often hosted at a family home or an intimate venue and brings together between 20 and 50 guests. It is a chance to pause before the big day, to connect, and to celebrate everything to come.
A Day of Style and Celebration
Steffanie’s celebration was filled with warmth, style and joy. Her family home became the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of laughter, food and flowers. We arrived early to begin styling, creating a setting that felt both abundant and elegant. A luxurious flower wall, tables dressed with sculptural blooms, and a striking grazing station set the scene for a luncheon her guests will remember forever.
Designing Flowers Just for the Bridal Shower
Working with Steffanie in the months leading up to her event was such a pleasure. Together we imagined flowers that would feel completely unique to her Bridal Shower, with a look and mood separate from her wedding day.
She dreamed of an elegant pink theme, full of oversized, abundant flowers. To bring that vision to life we sourced her favourite seasonal blooms: pastel blush Secret Garden roses, autumn-green hydrangeas, blush disbuds, delicate phalaenopsis orchids and playful pops of hot lips roses. The palette felt romantic yet modern, and perfectly suited her home setting.
Immersive Floral Styling
The floral installations brought the space to life in the most magical way.
Table flowers: Each dining table featured a white glass urn overflowing with a dense, domed arrangement of Steffanie’s chosen blooms. The effect was lush and generous, giving every guest a beautiful vantage point. At the end of the afternoon, the table designs were gifted to loved ones, which is always a heartfelt gesture that extended the joy of the day.
Cake display: The cake, a centrepiece in itself, was framed with soft pink flowers and gold accents. The flowers created a sense of occasion around the cake-cutting moment, while also providing a beautiful backdrop for photos.
Feature wall: A custom gold circular frame, supplied by Willowtree Events, became the canvas for a statement flower wall. Layered with roses, hydrangeas, orchids and disbuds, it created a glamorous setting for photos and served as a focal point of the celebration. Guests naturally gravitated to it, capturing candid shots throughout the afternoon.
Celebrating with Gold and Pink Hues
A statement gold circular frame became the perfect backdrop for Steffanie’s celebration. Adorned with layers of blush disbuds, Secret Garden roses, hydrangeas and cascading phalaenopsis orchids, the feature created a breathtaking focal point for the bridal shower. Guests were drawn to it throughout the day, capturing photos and celebrating against a backdrop that felt both glamorous and deeply personal.
Cherished Moments
One of the loveliest parts of the day was creating these floral pieces in Steffanie’s family home while her loved ones bustled around with excitement. It gave us time to chat, to laugh, and to share in the anticipation of the celebration ahead. Those quiet hours of preparation felt as special as the event itself.
