Flowers, Designed and Delivered in Southbank

City Road, Sturt Street, Kavanagh Street, Queensbridge, Southgate and the towers along the river are all within a few minutes of the bench they are made on. Southbank is the shortest journey any of our flowers take, and it shows in how they arrive.

Most of Southbank is vertical, so the practical detail is the building rather than the street. Towers with a concierge are simple. Where there is no desk, a mobile number for the recipient is what gets the flowers upstairs instead of left in a lobby. We also deliver to the offices, hotels and venues through the arts precinct, which tend to want a name at reception and nothing more.

Why Choose Kate Hill Flowers

Chosen Before Dawn

We have bought at the Melbourne market since July 2007, and turning up without fail has its rewards. Growers hold their good work for people they trust, so much of what reaches our bench in Southbank never went out on the floor. Being a long standing customer also means our buyers can hand a box straight back, and most mornings they do.

The Freshest Flowers, Thoughtfully Designed

The flowers are checked as they come off the van at City Road, and what does not measure up is not accepted. The rest is cut and conditioned in freshly cleaned buckets, and almost all of it is designed within twenty four hours. Your arrangement is checked again while a florist designs it and a final time before it leaves the studio. It follows the design you chose.

Delivered With Care

Even on the shortest journey we make, your flowers stand in water. The signature bag holds a vessel in its base, held the way a coffee tray holds a cup, so nothing spills and no stem dries out. It can be set down and left exactly as it arrives, which is why it earns its place on a hospital ward or a reception desk. Top the water up each day. If anything is not right, we replace it or refund it.

Delivering Beyond Southbank

Southbank Flower Delivery Questions

How quickly can flowers reach a Southbank address?

Same day on orders placed before 1pm, Monday to Saturday. Southbank is the closest suburb to our bench, so these are usually among the first deliveries out.

What is the delivery fee within Southbank?

It is calculated at checkout once the address is entered, so you know the exact cost before confirming.

Can you deliver into a Southbank apartment tower?

Yes. Where a building has a concierge we leave the flowers at the desk. Where it does not, please include the recipient's mobile number so we can reach them.

Do you deliver to hotels and offices near Southgate?

We do, regularly. Add the venue or business name, the room, level or suite, and a contact number. Reception is happy to hold flowers that carry their own water.

Where do the flowers actually come from?

They are chosen at the market before dawn and brought straight to this studio at 440 City Road, where our florists arrange them. The range changes with the season, so roses, hydrangeas, peonies, lilies, tulips and natives all appear across the year, alongside plants, wine and gifts.
