Somebody you care about is in hospital, and working out what the ward will allow is the last thing you want to be doing. So we have done the asking for you. We ring each hospital, write down what they tell us, and put the date on it so you can see how current it is.

Tell us the ward and we will make something that suits the room. If there is anything worth knowing before you order, we will say so. Order by 1pm for same day delivery, Monday to Saturday.

If the Ward Cannot Take Flowers

Intensive care is the one place flowers cannot go, and oncology is usually the same. Worth checking before you order, because having a gift turned away at the desk is a horrible end to a kind thought. If that is where your person is, ring us. Chocolates, a card or something for the room still get through, and we will help you choose.

Getting It to the Right Bed

Four things do it. The patient's full name as admitted, the ward, a contact number, and confirmation they are still in. Wards are busy and people move overnight, so a quick call to the ward that morning is worth the two minutes. If something is missing we will ring you and hold the gift rather than send it out and hope.

Already Standing in Water

Most florists steer you towards a boxed arrangement because the hospital may not have a spare vase, and hospitals rarely do. Ours is designed with a water vessel seated in the base of the bag, so nobody has to go hunting. The flowers sit on the table already in water, stay in the bag for the whole stay, and go home in it.

The hospitals linked below have a page of their own, with the rules checked and dated. Everywhere else in Melbourne metro gets the same delivery, we have just not written it up yet. Ring the ward for the name, the ward and the bed, put all three on the order, and the rest is ours to worry about.

Parkville is a campus, not a hospital. Six hospitals sit within a few minutes of each other there, so knowing which building a patient is actually in matters more than the street address does.

The inner north, the inner south and the inner east are on the daily run. These sit on roads we drive every working day, so a hospital order here joins a route rather than becoming a trip of its own.

Heidelberg, the south east and the outer east are a longer drive, not a different service. Same 1pm cut off, same delivery to a ward reception, and the same call to the ward on the morning it goes out.

The west and the north are inside the map. Melbourne metro is the delivery area, and an address just outside it is usually a conversation rather than a no.

Hospital Delivery Questions

What if the ward will not take flowers?

Chocolates, a card on its own or a gift for a new baby sit outside any flower rule, so they get through where an arrangement might not. The studio will tell you which is the safer bet for the ward rather than take the order and hope.

Can you deliver to a Melbourne hospital today?

Yes, on orders placed before 1pm, Monday to Saturday. The flowers go to the ward reception and ward staff take them in from there.

What details do you need for a hospital delivery?

Are flowers allowed in every ward?

No. Intensive care takes nothing at any hospital we have rung, and most say the same of oncology. Some hospitals publish a rule, some leave it to the ward on the day, and each page here says which.
