The one rule Epworth publishes is about lilies. They are treated as a known allergen and are not allowed into any Epworth hospital, and the site says all other flowers are welcome. That was read on the Epworth Richmond location page on 5 September 2026.

Ringing on 7 September 2026 added two things the site does not carry. Intensive care and oncology take no deliveries at all, and because this is a large, busy hospital with shared rooms, heavily scented flowers are not accepted either.

Sending Flowers Into Epworth Richmond

Which door depends on the ward, and the hospital is specific about it. Bridge Road is the one for Kato. Erin Street is better for Festa, Grey, Leigh and Thomas. Put the ward on the order and the delivery reaches the right side of the building first time.

Nothing can be left at main reception. Staff there will give directions and confirm which ward a patient is on, but a box put down at that desk does not reach the patient, so the ward matters more here than almost anywhere.

It is a large general hospital, so orders cover surgery, cardiac care and rehabilitation. Rehabilitation is the one to check separately, because visiting there runs on different hours and a longer stay changes what is worth sending.

One Call to the Ward

Anna at reception put it more plainly than we would have. Always ring the hospital beforehand and confirm the patient is still there, the ward, and the bed number. She is the one who has to turn deliveries away when nobody has.

Main reception will confirm a ward for a florist, so we are not shut out of it. But a patient can be moved overnight without the family being told, and the family is who the hospital speaks to properly, so the call is better coming from your side.

A delivery that arrives for someone already discharged is refused. There is no holding it at a desk and no second attempt built into the day, which is why the morning call is worth the two minutes.

Lilies Are Out, Everything Else Is In

Visiting Times, Entrances and the Car Park

Epworth publishes visiting at Richmond from 10am to 8pm every day, apart from rehabilitation, where it runs 4pm to 8pm on weekdays and 10am to 8pm at weekends. Those hours were read on the hospital location page on 5 September 2026.

Parking is free for the first thirty minutes and rises to $63 for a stay of eight to twenty four hours, and the hospital points visitors to Bridge Road for it. Both entrances have a drop off area, which helps if someone is being collected after a procedure.

Something Other Than Flowers

When a ward will not take flowers, a plant is worth asking about here, because Epworth publishes nothing against them the way St Vincent's does. Chocolates or a card on their own also get through, and the ward is the one to ask.
