Cabrini publishes no flower or gift policy anywhere on its patient and visitor pages, which we read on 5 September 2026 against the hospital visitor information. That is not a ban and it is not permission. When we rang on 7 September 2026 the hospital said the same thing: it has no rule, and it is decided ward by ward.

What reception did add is that the hospital prefers no scented flowers, for patient wellbeing, and that intensive care takes no flowers and no plants at all. That came from Ruth at main reception on 7 September 2026, and it is the closest thing to a rule Cabrini has.

Sending Flowers to Cabrini Malvern

The hospital fronts Wattletree Road at number 181, and that main entrance is the one to use. Reception will confirm which ward a patient is on, but nothing is left there. The flowers go up to the ward reception, and that desk is staffed 7am to 7pm.

Malvern is also the only Cabrini site with a maternity unit, twenty four private rooms across Maternity West and Maternity South, so new baby arrangements and get well flowers both come here. General wards, paediatrics, intensive care and palliative care sit on the same campus.

Ring the Ward Before You Order

Reception will tell a florist which ward a patient is on, as long as we give the correct full legal name. What it will not do is tell us the things that actually sink a delivery, so the call is better coming from you.

Ring Cabrini on the morning of the delivery and ask for the full name as admitted, the ward and the bed. A family member gets a fuller answer than a driver does, including whether a discharge is booked for that day, or a move is coming once a procedure is finished.

Get it wrong and the delivery does not wait. An incorrect name, a missing contact number or a patient already discharged means the flowers are refused at reception. That is the whole reason for the phone call.

What to Send Into Cabrini

Compact, and in Its Own Vessel

A bedside table at Cabrini holds a jug, a phone and not much else, so the arrangement wants to be low and compact, in a vessel that carries its own water. Wards do not keep spare vases and nobody visiting wants to go hunting for one.

Scent Is the Thing to Watch

Cabrini told us it prefers nothing scented, and it is not the only one. Four of the five hospitals we rang said the same without being asked. Our florists design these lightly scented or not scented at all, and will use the longer lasting stems if the stay is a long one.

What We Need on the Order

Give us the patient's full name as admitted, the ward, the bed number if you have it, and a mobile for someone who is at the hospital that day. Tell our florists whether it is a new baby or a get well arrangement and they design to suit.

Visiting Hours, Entrances and Parking

Cabrini publishes general ward visiting from 10am to 2.30pm and again from 4.30pm to 8pm, with a rest period in between, maternity from 3pm to 8pm with partners welcome at any hour, and paediatrics from 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 8pm. Intensive care and palliative care have no set hours and ask you to check with the care team first.

The public car park runs off Coonil Crescent and opens 6am to 8pm daily, free for the first twenty minutes and capped at $27 a day, with a card surcharge at the exit. The main entrance and the car park lift keep the same hours, seven days.

When Flowers Will Not Work

Intensive care will not take flowers or plants, and a ward can say no on the day. If that happens, chocolates or a card on their own still reach a patient, and the studio will talk through what suits a room you cannot send flowers into.
