I absolutely loved working with Sarah and Anthony. Over the course of the year, I had the pleasure of getting to know them both, and their wedding flowers became such a joyful part of the planning process.
They came to us with a clear vision for their wedding day. They wanted flowers that felt romantic, fragrant and naturally beautiful, with a softness that suited their rustic venue.
Set at Emu Bottom Homestead, their wedding had a warm and character-filled setting. The venue’s homestead charm gave us a beautiful foundation to work from, and we loved creating floral details that felt relaxed, personal and deeply connected to the space.
A rustic Melbourne wedding with a clear floral vision

Rustic wedding flowers need to feel considered, not casual. For Sarah and Anthony, the design was all about softness, fragrance and texture.
Rather than creating anything overly formal, we focused on flowers that felt abundant and natural. The floral styling needed to sit comfortably within the homestead setting, while still feeling special enough for such a meaningful celebration.
The result was romantic and beautifully fragrant, with floral jars and hanging bottles styled throughout the venue.
Fragrant ivory and white wedding flowers

Sarah and Anthony chose a soft ivory and white palette filled with some of their favourite flowers.
We incorporated locally grown ivory David Austin roses, white peonies, white hydrangeas, lemon geranium foliage, bouvardia, white freesias and smokebush. Together, these flowers created a gentle, layered design with a beautiful scent.

The fragrance was such an important part of the atmosphere. The roses, freesias and lemon geranium brought a fresh botanical quality to the day, while the smokebush added softness and depth.
Floral jars and hanging bottles for a homestead setting

One of the loveliest parts of this wedding was the styling of floral jars and hanging bottles throughout the venue.
These details suited Emu Bottom Homestead beautifully. They felt intimate, rustic and personal, adding small moments of flowers throughout the space without overwhelming the natural character of the venue.

For a homestead wedding, these kinds of floral details can be very effective. They bring warmth and movement, and they help connect the ceremony, reception and surrounding spaces into one floral story.
Wedding flower inspiration for rustic Melbourne venues

Sarah and Anthony’s wedding is a beautiful example of how rustic wedding flowers can still feel refined.
For rustic Melbourne wedding venues, we often think carefully about:
-
Fragrance and seasonal availability
-
Softness in the colour palette
-
Natural movement in the foliage
-
Floral details that suit timber, stone or historic architecture
-
The balance between relaxed styling and a polished wedding finish
For this wedding, the flowers were not just decorative. They helped shape the feeling of the day.
Planning your Melbourne wedding flowers

If you are planning a homestead, garden or rustic celebration and looking for wedding flowers in Melbourne, Sarah and Anthony’s wedding is a lovely reminder that the most beautiful floral designs often begin with feeling.
A clear vision, a meaningful venue and flowers you genuinely love can create a wedding atmosphere that feels personal from the moment guests arrive.
For couples beginning this process, a wedding flower consultation gives us the chance to understand your venue, your favourite flowers and the atmosphere you would love to create.
