Our top 4 tips for when you are next ordering flowers for delivery in Melbourne with your local Melbourne florist.
We’re going to let you in on a little secret… Melbourne florists are a little more spoilt than other florists in Australia. That’s because most of Australia’s best flowers are grown right here in Melbourne, Victoria. Melbourne florists are often the envy of florists all around the country. But no matter how good our blooms are, they’re at most risk once they leave the sanctuary of your florist’s store and head out on the road for delivery.
1. Check the weather
We’re blessed with a slightly cooler climate in Melbourne, meaning that when you send flowers to Melbourne, they’re not as likely to be damaged by heat while out with the driver for delivery. But that’s not to say that you don’t need to keep an eye on the weather when organising the delivery of your flowers. It’s always a good idea to have a quick look online and think about some instructions for where they can be left safely if the recipient is not home. This is especially the case if you are ordering flowers for a delivery date that is a few days out.
2. Double check the recipients address
This is a critical part of making sure your Melbourne florist gets your flowers where you want them, when you want them there. It sounds simple, but there are many anomalies to delivery addresses including streets that have a similar name in the same suburb. It’s as easy as hopping on Google maps and checking in street view if you are not 100% sure.
While it may sound like overkill, the wrong address is provided all to often and stops a flower delivery in it’s tracks.
3. Let us know of any curlies
Most Melbourne florists will have a little field box located in the checkout area in their online store that invites you to add any comments about issues that may present at the delivery location for the flower courier. This is a great place to provide a little more information about the order and any potential difficulties. After dealing with heavy traffic and bad drivers while racing your flower delivery to it’s destination, the last thing the drivers needs is to confront a savage Chihuahua or locked gate. Some florists in Melbourne also have a return or redelivery fee so it’s a good idea to keep this in mind.
4. Check to see if the recipient will be home
This isn’t always easy. Especially if you are trying to surprise the recipient with some beautiful flowers. But if you can, it’s a great idea. If they are not home, it’s no real problem. We just need to know where our driver can leave your flowers as safely as possible from passers by and at the same time offers some protection from the weather.
So, if you can go that extra mile on the four points above you’ll make life so much easier for your Melbourne florist and the delivery of flowers will be happier for it too!
