Flowers Down the Bay to Sandringham

Sandringham is where the train line ends and the beach begins, and the village around the station, with its cafes on Station Street and Bay Road, is where most of our deliveries here land. The rest go to the family homes on the streets behind, to the yacht club for functions, and to Sandringham Hospital on Bluff Road.

It is the last stop on our bayside run after Brighton and Hampton, and orders placed before 1pm still arrive the same day, from stems chosen at the market that morning and designed at the studio before the van leaves.

What Sandringham Gets From Southbank

Our buyers have bought from the same growers at the Melbourne market since 2007, and the growers show them what was cut overnight before it goes on general sale. Sandringham arrangements are designed from that first look, and a box that is not up to it is handed back at the stall.

Checked at the Bench, Twice

When the flowers reach Southbank every bunch is opened and checked, and what falls short goes back. The rest is stripped, recut and stood in clean water, and most of it is designed within a day. Your florist checks the stems again while the arrangement takes shape, and gives it a last look before it leaves for Sandringham.

Water All the Way Down Beach Road

Sandringham is one of our longer runs, which is why the signature bag matters. It carries a water vessel in its base, so the stems stand in water all the way down Beach Road and can stay in the bag on a step or a ward shelf. Top up the water daily. If anything is wrong, we replace it or refund it.

Birthdays and anniversaries lead in Sandringham, with new baby flowers, get well arrangements for the hospital, thank yous, function flowers for the yacht club and sympathy arrangements through the year. Tell our florists the occasion and they design to it, using roses, hydrangeas, peonies and whatever the buyers rated best that morning.
