Wedding Flowers Melbourne Bride and Groom Walking in Garden

Wedding Flowers Highlight | Emily & John

Who would have thought in February 2020, that one month later Melbourne would be quickly locked down, right in the middle of peak wedding and events season.

With luck clearly on Emily and John's side, they celebrated their dream day on Sunday 23 February 2020 at Carousel in Albert Park just days before we were plunged into lockdown.

Sunday 23 February 2020 turned out to be a perfect summer’s day. Carousel is one of Melbourne’s most iconic venues and has hosted events of all scales for decades, in fact, long before the F1 Grand Prix drivers started racing past it’s front door.

Emily wore a timeless Carolina Herrera gown which complemented her custom made bridal bouquet which was cascading and contemporary in style. The bouquet featured secret garden and ivory reflexed roses, seasonal green foliage and naturally cascading blush phalaenopsis orchids.

The couple chose a subtle pastel colour palette to compliment the venue and add a pop of pastel to the wedding. We worked closely with the bride when sourcing all the fresh flowers to ensure the flowers complimented the Lauren Skorsis stationary, the textured linen and even the Nikos Cake!

Dyonsu fashioned the groom's suit and the boys looked absolutely dapper in their black tie attire. The buttonholes (or boutonniere) were personally pinned on by the Kate Hill team on the morning of the wedding. This extra detail ensures that the Groom and his bridal party are wearing their buttonholes correctly without damaging or breaking the buttonhole, and the suit for that matter. The Kate Hill Team arrived on time as always to ensure the traditional pinning of the Groom’s buttonhole. Erin+Tara were also on location to capture the wedding.

Upon entering Carousel, everyone was welcomed by the stunning sight of fresh and fragrant pastel flowers which included reflexed secret garden roses, ivory roses, locally grown hydrangeas and masses of blush phalaenopsis orchids. Long tables were dressed with neutral textured linens, detailed in gold, and set with masses of candles running down the table centres.

The entrance of the venue featured a bespoke floral feature and many of the guests used this as a stunning backdrop to take photos in front of. It was great to see a beautiful entrance design being interacted with by the guests, and adding a real talking point in their photos for years to come.

I can not express my gratitude to Emily and John (and their beautiful families) who gave us the opportunity to be part of their wedding. They were an absolute dream to work with and it’s always an honour to be trusted with the wedding flowers we create for each and every wedding.

Thank you Emily for your kind words:

"Our florals are still my absolute FAVOURITE feature of our day and just made the entire wedding. I couldn’t sing your praises enough - you were so incredible to deal with and did the most stunning job.

Thank you again Kate!!!"
